Riding Through Akihabara
Riding Through Akihabara
Blog Article
Today, I rode my bicycle around Tokyo to gather inspiration for a new PCB design project. The morning was cool and the sunlight gentle, so I left home early. My first stop was Akihabara. In the backstreets of the electric town, small parts shops lined up, and I could examine connectors and chips with my own hands. A shop clerk recommended some low-profile resistors and capacitors, which I noted down.
Next, I moved to the cycling road along the Kanda River. The breeze felt refreshing, and every time I pedaled, new ideas popped into my mind. While riding, I mentally visualized the circuit layout and component placements for the board.
I took a lunch break on a bench in Ueno Park. While eating a sandwich I brought from home, I opened my laptop and started sketching a rough circuit diagram. Under the dappled sunlight, I was surprisingly focused and managed to solidify the design flow smoothly.
In the afternoon, I headed toward Ikebukuro. At a large hobby shop, I found some sample Ethernet connectors and copied a few technical datasheets. On the way home, I sorted through priorities for component selection and reviewed cost considerations in my mind.
After getting home and taking a shower, I laid out the notes and materials I collected today and began organizing my design plan. Cycling through Tokyo refreshed both my body and mind, and it helped me generate a lot of new ideas. Tomorrow, I’ll finally begin the PCB layout work.
